Beeswax Vinyl Daily September 14, 2023

Non-Musical history for today: 1752 – The British Empire adopted the Gregorian calendar, skipping eleven days (the previous day was September 2). Of course, the UK being who and what they are, the term “New Style” was used for the calendar, and the Act omits any acknowledgment of Pope Gregory: the Annexe to the Act established a computation for the date of Easter that achieved the same result as Gregory’s rules, without actually referring to him.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 14.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
