Beeswax Vinyl Daily August 19, 2024

Non-musical history for today: There are two because I find it interesting that the exact same thing happened (in different parts of the world but not really) on the same day, 80 years apart.

1612 – The “Samlesbury witches”, three women from the Lancashire village of Samlesbury, England, were put on trial, accused of practicing witchcraft, one of the most famous witch trials in British history.
1692 – In Salem, Province of Massachusetts Bay, five people, one woman and four men, including a clergyman, were executed after being convicted of witchcraft.

Once more, persecution for something we don’t understand.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for August 19.

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
