Non-musical history for today: 1835 – The first “Great Moon Hoax” article was published in The New York Sun, announcing the discovery of life and civilization on the Moon. The paper was printed until the first week of 1950 and was considered a “serious” newspaper. It was the first penny daily and focused a lot on crime. In addition to the “Great Moon Hoax,” The Sun also published the 1897 editorial that featured the line, “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”

Recorded in the Omniverus Podcast Studios at Liberty Plaza.
