Non-musical history for today: 1999 – A Learjet 35 crashed in Mina near Aberdeen, South Dakota, killing all six people on board, including PGA golfer Payne Stewart and golf course designer Bruce Borland. Early in the flight, the aircraft, which was climbing to its assigned altitude on autopilot, lost cabin pressure, and all six on board were incapacitated and killed by hypoxia, a lack of oxygen in the brain and body. I remember this. Air Force fighter jets flew up beside the plane and reported that the windshield was iced over and the plane was on autopilot.
