Non-musical history for today: 1582 – In Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway paid a £40 (equivalent to £14,557 in 2023) bond in lieu of posting wedding banns, which enabled them to marry immediately. Stephanie and I looked into Italy as a potential spot for our wedding, but when we researched Italy, we found that there were still some bans (as it is sometimes spelled) in place. So Scotland it was.
