Shaunna Gray of Crown Jewel K9 returns to the Chamber podcast for a conversation filled with warmth, humor, and the kind of practical insight that has made her one of the most beloved members of our business community. Denise opens the episode by sharing her own experience working with Shaunna, whose in‑home training model helped transform life with her high‑energy dog, Audrey. Shaunna reflects on her unique career path from psychiatric nursing to a 20‑year military career to becoming a certified professional dog trainer, a journey shaped by purpose, passion, and a deep love for helping both dogs and their humans thrive.
The two dig into what makes Crown Jewel K9 different, especially Shaunna’s commitment to training in the home, where real behaviors happen, and real relationships form. She explains why her work focuses as much on the owners as the dogs, teaching people how to communicate clearly and confidently so their pets can succeed in everyday life. Shaunna also shares how her business has grown, including the addition of Grace, a fellow trainer who began as an intern and now works alongside her. With more than 85 dogs trained and a full roster of clients, Shaunna discusses her long‑term vision to expand into enrichment‑based day training and boarding for past clients.
The episode closes with stories that capture the joy and unpredictability of life with dogs, from muddy backyard adventures to the funniest pet names Shaunna has heard. She also highlights her new blog and newsletter, created to help pet owners stay informed and connected. It’s a conversation that celebrates the bond between people and their pets, the power of good training, and the value of having dedicated professionals like Shaunna in our local business community.
