Non-musical history for today: 1895 – Playwright, poet, and novelist Oscar Wilde was convicted of “committing acts of gross indecency with other male persons” and sentenced to serve two years in prison. Gross indecency was used in UK laws to persecute homosexual males, where they couldn’t prove sodomy had occurred. Antiquated, short-sighted, and stupid.
Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for May 25.
Recorded in the Such-N-Such Studios at Liberty Plaza.
