Beeswax Vinyl Daily — September 18, 2026

Non-musical history for today: 1837 – Tiffany & Co. (originally named Tiffany & Young) was founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and Teddy Young in New York City. The store was called a “stationery and fancy goods emporium”. The patented blue box, known as “Tiffany Blue,” carries the Pantone code PMS 1837 to honor its founding year. Inspired by the traditional robin’s egg blue, Tiffany first chose it for the 1845 cover of their annual collection, the Blue Book. It is, of course, proprietary and is not found in the standard Pantone guides.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 18.

Recorded in the Such-N-Such Studios at Liberty Plaza.
