Non-musical history for today: 1796 – George Washington’s Farewell Address was printed across America as an open letter to the public. Washington warned that political factions and intense partisanship would divide the country, create false ambitions, and lead to tyranny. Check! He cautioned against regional and geographic rivalries, urging citizens to put their identity as Americans above local or state interests. Hmm… maybe? He advised the nation to maintain commercial ties with other countries but to avoid permanent or binding political alliances that could drag the U.S. into foreign wars. Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 19.

Recorded in the Such-N-Such Studios at Liberty Plaza.
