Non-musical history for today: 1823 – Joseph Smith claimed to have found the “golden plates” after being directed by God through the Angel Moroni to the place where they were buried. Some accounts from people who reportedly handled the plates described them as weighing 30 to 60 pounds, being gold in color, and composed of thin metallic pages engraved with hieroglyphics on both sides and bound with three D-shaped rings. Because God buried them in the Massachusetts hills. Uh huh. There must have been some good drugs in 1823.

Music history, album anniversaries, birthdays, and deaths for September 22.

Recorded in the Such-N-Such Studios at Liberty Plaza.
